This year's Village Day will feature entertainment by Brazilian virtuoso Ebinho Cardoso's new exciting band featuring vocalist Albino Mbie. The uniqueness of his music and technique has earned him a reputation as one of the most respected Brazilian bassists of the new generation. Composer, arranger, singer and researcher, Ebinho uses the electric bass in mesmerizing new ways, showing its range of possibilities. In addition to playing the bass as an accompanying instrument or as a solo instrument, he has found unique ways of playing chords on the bass that characterize his playing style. His music blends traces of jazz with the elements of classical music interwoven with the rich sounds of his native Brazil. Visit his website. Ebinho Cardoso has shared the stage with big names in the music world including Abraham Laboriel, Toninho Horta, Joe Hunt, Michael Manring, Dave Samuels, Marshall Wood, Carlos Malta, Todd Johnson, Phil Granadier, Renato Braz, Celso Pixinga, Arthur Maia, Marku Ribas, Nelson Faria and others. Returning again this year, look for another fun-filled performance by the Newton Family Singers The Newton Family Singers is an intergenerational family chorus, bringing together families and friends of all ages to sing and perform folk and traditional American music. This is their 6th appearance at Waban Village Day.
