Progressive Dinner 2020 Cancelled

Due to the updated information from Governor Baker declaring a state of emergency due to COVID-19, and the fact that large gatherings (over 50 people) are discouraged, the Waban Improvement Society (WIS) leadership as well as the event organizers have decided that going ahead with what was to be a 100+ person event is just not worth the risk. We all enjoy the WIS Progressive Dinner; however we want to exercise an abundance of caution and keep everyone safe. Thanks to all of you who signed up to attend and to be hosts!  We truly appreciate your support of the WIS and of this event.  We look forward to seeing all of you at the next WIS event, Waban Village Day on Sunday, May 17, 2020.

If you would like to donate your Progressive Dinner payment to the WIS, it will be used for future community-building events, such as Waban Village Day and the Waban Tree Lighting.  If you would prefer to get a refund, please email Colleen Nolan at wisbookkeeper@gmail.com.

The Waban Improvement Society’s 2020 Annual Progressive Dinner is Saturday, March 14, 2020, starting at 7pmMark your calendars! Attendance in past years has helped make this evening one of our neighborhood’s most popular and cherished traditions. Every year, we are all treated to an evening of new and renewed friendships, the warm hospitality of neighbors, delicious cuisine and delightful conversation. We come together as neighbors in one another’s homes and are once again reminded of how exceptional Waban truly is.

We will “progress” from home to home. Each destination will have a new mix of people.
The schedule is: 7:00-8:00 pm Appetizers; 8:15-9:30 pm Dinner; 9:30-11 pm Dessert.

RSVP via the sign-up link below to let us know if you can host an appetizer or dinner course, or if you wish to be a guest who brings an assigned dish.

Destinations will be sent out in early March.

We ask a nominal donation of $25 per participant.  This event fee will be waived for those who elect to host.
