'Tis the season for getting creative!
This year, the Waban Lights Tree Lighting and Sing-Along with the Newton Family Singers will be held on the Waban Library Center lawn. Please join us on Sunday, December 14th at 4:00pm for some hot chocolate, a spirited community sing-along of holiday favorites and help us count down to flipping the switch that turns the WLC grounds into a winter wonderland.
The Waban Improvement Society strives each year to maintain a warm and family-friendly atmosphere in our village. In addition, we work to keep our green spaces clean and attractive and to help beautify Waban. This year, we are inviting Waban neighbors and businesses to help us in a new endeavor “Waban Lights”. We have contracted with a professional outdoor lighting company to properly light our fabulous evergreen tree in the middle of Waban Square. Waban is our village and pride has never run deeper, especially after such run-away successes like Waban Village Day.

Waban’s Benjamin Korsh: Breaking New Ground in Photography
While Preserving Angier History
Benjamin Korsh, 19, a student at UMASS/Boston, moved to Waban at age 2. He attended Newton schools, graduating from Newton South in 2012. His time at Angier School made a lasting impression on Korsh, who two years ago conceived the idea of creating large-scale artistic photographs of Angier classrooms before the school building is torn down this spring.
