Waban Village Day kicks off with the Family Fun Run at 10:00 am, as it has since 2005! Racers of all ages may participate, including children, who are allowed to ride bikes and scooters along the 3-mile race course. As always, this year’s entertainment showcases a wide variety of talent, from internationally recognized professional artists to rising youth stars.
This year’s headliner will be Mark Copeland’s Contemporary Gospel Band featuring recording artist Alexis Wright. In addition, there will be performances from Waban’s new neighbors at the Suzuki Music School, and by local favorites the Newton Family Singers.
Village Day also offers plenty of amusement rides and games for kids of all ages, handmade crafts, jewelry, gifts and more. Stop by the Pizza Tent for fresh slices of pizza from Stone L’Oven, and enjoy cold beverages and ice cream. Chat with members of the Waban Library Center and Waban Area Council to learn more about these organizations, and discuss important issues with city officials, candidates, and citizens organizations.
Waban Village Day has been rained out only once in its 14 years, but if that happens, all the entertainment will move to the library, and many vendors may stay. We look forward to seeing you there!
